Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Léon offered a friendly smile. Joukahainen was a different looking horse. Not that the roan boy had too much experience. He also had no idea what this guy’s dad could have done. Seemed like the Lagoon’s upper levels were taking serious offense to the weirdest stuff. Were they in some kind of war against the band stallions? If so, why had no one told him? Then again, it wasn’t like the arabian mix would be much good in a fight — after all, he was pretty little.

Damn it! Wouldn’t he ever grow up?

“Nice to meet you Joukah…” Léon paused, trying to work over the strange syllables. “Joukahen… uh… can I call you Jouka? Sorry, I just don’t want to fumble over your name all the time.” His smile was warm and genuine. “And yeah, I live here. Where ya from?”

Léon cast an amber eye at the adults. His ear twitched as the mare mentioned she wanted Jouka to join the Lagoon. That was a good idea. More young stallions. Léon’s foal hood had been lonely and difficult for such a social creature. He looked at the other one.

“So, you’re gonna come join us? Great!” Léon looked back at the adults one more time. “Come on. I’ll show you around! I know all the places to eat, and drink, and where to avoid. By the way, if you see a weasel, let me know. I’ve got an ongoing bet with someone that there are none here.” The roan turned about and nodded his head, inviting Joukahainen to join him.
