On this night, there was an urge not to be alone, and so the Queen of Asteraia made her way to her den where her youngest children should be for the night. Often it was little Isolde fell asleep within the meadows, so wrapped up in her little world that it was Rhae that brought her home to bed, safe and sound. And so her absence at the den was not much of a surprise, but Viserys was also nowhere to be found, and it had their Mother wondering. The site was so littered with their scents that of course she had no problem finding which direction they had gone- she was their dam, after all- and large paws aided her in her quest to find them easily. Young voices are spoken, and Rhae slows her approach so that she might catch such words. With Gaia and Cae, the two often felt no need to give words to the other, though Gaia was talkative and outgoing, Cae was not. Now, perhaps, in his maturity that could have changed, but as she had known him, it had been so. Even Lucero had been quiet much as his brother, though still outgoing much like Gaia. And then had come Isolde, Viserys, and little Aurai. While it was true Rai was not a blood daughter, Rhae had always and would always treat her as one since having found her at her birth parents den. She was not sure if the little one knew of her heritage, but it did not matter. If she ever asked, Rhae would tell her the truth without hesitation, following up with any reassurance needed to remind her of her love. It was just the way she was. And with Rai it seemed that the common notion of shyness was lifted from her children. A smile crossed her rather handsome features at the words of her children- little Isolde so reassuring and sweet to her brother, and Viserys wondering about their Father and his thoughts. Taking the moments needed, large paws brought her equally large frame through the tall grass as was needed to come into view of the little ones. Though there was but faint light left upon the horizon, illuminating minimal all around them- the stars and rising moon overhead was enough so that teal eyes could take in her children well enough. Though it felt as if she had just brought them into this world yesterday, they were both growing fast; even Viserys with his back issues was doing splendid. Much like his biggest sister Gaia, he was quickly overcoming his handicap, not that anyone treated it as such. It was a part of him, much like Lucero's blind eye was a part of him and hindered him hardly. It was seldom that others even knew her middle child was half blind, though it wasn't a thing they felt the need to hide to begin with. Lowering her large skull down in her approached, she watched the two closely, her voice coming forth for them in teasing, scolding tones that held no sincerity. "And just what do you two little ones think you're doing out of the den?" Though she might be playfully chastising them, there is a smile upon her features as she finally lowers herself down before the duo. Unlike their Father, she is most large and beside them, she is a behemoth among even giants. Leaning forward so that she may wash her tongue atop each of their tiny snouts in turn, several thumps of her large tail were given against the earth before she laid her muzzle upon her paws, watching the two with a bright curiosity and love swimming within her teal gaze. She wished to spend time with them more, to know them better as she had done with all her children. "What might the two of you be dreaming up this evening?" There was genuine interest in her voice, for Rhae did very much enjoy knowing her family, her very children, and all that they wished to share with her. She did her very best never to suffocate or to keep them to close, but she did enjoy their attention if ever they wanted to give it to her. A Mother could ask for nothing more, truly. |
