Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

FROM THE OCEAN SHE RISES

While most of the lagoon probably wouldn't attack the forest, there were one or two who might. If she had the word of one of the higher ups that the recent fuss would be forgotten, then at least the forest on equal footing with the rest of the island herds. The lagoon stallion asked if Lyden would be agreeable to any potential offers should her demands be met. The pale stallion held some bitterness toward the bachelors but she was hopeful that he could set that aside for the good of the herd. ”He would be a fool not to” she answered, meeting his cold, yellow eyes.

Her tail snapped across her hocks as she practically watched the cogs turning in the painted stallion's mind. He'd obviously been struck by an idea which he now voiced. The buckskin mare snorted softly, the terms were fair though she had hoped to have a little more time to talk Lyden around before they would need to consider the deal they had been offered. There were only two colts in the forest at present, Alexander and Dock's boy. She had a feeling Alexander was being primed as a band stallion which was too soon in her opinion - Let him learn valuable skills with the bachelor first, she thought. Lyden and Aurelia might disagree. Dock on the other hand, a young girl lumbered with a child she did not consent to, she may be willing to send her boy away sooner rather than later.

”I will need to speak with Lyden and the mother's of the herd colts but I am confident they will see it as a great opportunity for our herd and one that if difficult to refuse. The colts would need to move out of the herd at one to two years old anyway and it was important for them the learn how to fight and defend themselves and their mares before trying to maintain a herd. If the forest herd gained a new member by sending their colts to the best place for them, then she could see no reason, other than petty dislike and misinformation, to turn it down.
