++I’ll Always Remember You ++

Azariah

The palomino’s ears were flat with strands of her pale mane covering them. Every muscle was tense with both fear and anger. She continued to wander away from where the herd was gathered. Her hooves sank into the sand with every step. She wasn’t quite sure how she felt about that. She was more use to solid dirt ground with grass. She lowered her head and brushed her muzzle across the sand. She looked at it, almost lost in thought until the sound of the hooves following behind her brought her attention back to the present. Her ears caught his words, every one of them. She had no interest in conversation. She barely looked at him. Her eyes were cold, empty looking. Her anger was mainly fear now. Fear of him, of others, of the unknown. She didn’t do too well with abandonment. Her sister should have known that. “You already know my name. There is no need for introductions. I don’t care who you are. I want nothing, absolutely nothing to do with you.” She hissed from gritted teeth. She turned away, sending her heels out in his direction in a full buck.

Her palomino coat had dark patches of sweat across her neck, flanks, and chest. She felt itchy and what better way to sooth that itch than a good roll in the sand…however she didn’t want to leave herself vulnerable to the one who forced her to come here. The thought of taking off galloping crossed her mind but that is not what she had chosen to do. Instead, she broke into a trot to put space between the two of them. She decided maybe a trot wouldn’t be quite as alarming…maybe he wouldn’t think she was attempting to escape the territory. No that would come later. Once she was satisfied with the distance between them she let her knees buckle. She rolled in the sand until she was content. She sprung to her feet quickly and shook off. Her ears took their normal position, pinned flat as they could go. She wasn’t really the type to socialize so she decided to remain where she was at. She just watched the herd from the distance and continued to watch the stallion suspiciously.
