Roddick Rocks Royal Albert Hall
Andy Roddick made a successful debut at the Statoil Masters Tennis on Saturday, winning his opening match 6-4, 6-3 over two-time French Open Champion Sergi Bruguera.
Roddick, who reached three Wimbledon finals during the course of his career, was delighted to make his return to the London stage.
'That was a lot of fun,' he said. 'This was an event I have heard about for a long time so to get out there against a guy who has won a couple of Grand Slams and to have a little bit of fun was really kinda great and the crowd seemed to enjoy it.'
During the match the American's serves frequently nudged the 130mph mark, with one delivery registering at 140mph.
He will now meet Xavier Malisse on Saturday to decide who reaches Sunday’s final. In the other group, Tim Henman faces Fernando Gonzalez.

Roddick Takes Tea With Tim At Wimbledon
After the match, Roddick was a special guest on the Tennis Podcast, the free, downloadable tennis radio show.
The American revealed that on Thursday he had visited the All England Club, site of three glorious but ultimately heartbreaking runs to the Wimbledon final. There, he joined four-time semifinalist Tim Henman for, in Roddick’s words, 'a spot of tea’.
He also explained how he came to terms with his 2009 Wimbledon loss to Roger Federer, what he is doing these days, and why he had changed his mind about Hawk-Eye since retiring.
