John McEnroe Stars In Royal Albert Hall Podcast

John McEnroe is a special guest in the latest edition of the Tennis Podcast which this week features daily shows from the Statoil Masters Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall.

After Pat Cash talked about all things 1987 from Wimbledon victory to the movie 'Fatal Attraction' on Wednesday, McEnroe sat down last night to discuss his 11-9 final-set win over Cash, his thoughts on super-coaches, and his views on the futures of Nick Kyrgios, Stefan Kozlov, Alexander Zverev and Grigor Dimitrov.

When asked who McEnroe thought would be the next new Grand Slam tournament winner, McEnroe said:

"As far as someone who hasn’t won a major that would win, I would pick Dimitrov to win Wimbledon next year over Djokovic. Hopefully he will do it, Wimbledon is made for him.'

On Kygrios, he said:

'If I had to pick a guy that could potentially could literally beat top 5 next year, that's the guy that that I would pick.'

On Kozlov, he added:

"I like him, he’s just a natural. His game is so athletic, the foot speed is just the part I’m worried about a little bit. He’s got the hands, beautiful touch and he’s got a natural instinct and he’s worked hard on that. He's going to be a good player.”

McEnroe plays Henri Leconte tonight, and will then be part of Mylan World Team Tennis Smash Hits on Sunday, as part of Sir Elton John’s team.
