Maybe some part of you just hates me

Alexander stands quietly next to his father as they took guard watching over the forest like he had seen just his father do so many times before. Since turning one Lyden had been spending more time with his precious aureate son. Soon he’d be grown and almost ready to find a home all on his own, sort of like Jouk but he and Jormungandr placed him with the bachelors. Or rather gandy placed him there without discussing it with him prior. Personally Lyden thought sending anyone there is like sending them to their grave. It is testosterone driven, guarded by swamps that carried leaches and vegetation is scarce causing everyone to fight and defend what little food they managed to come across.

Porcelain ears flip backwards to lay against his equally pale locks as the crisp bite of the autumn drifted by the duo. Alexander finally stirs and pushes his portal into the strong shoulder of his father urging him to come back from his day dreams. ”daddy where did they all go?” he asks, staring up at him with mutual sea blue orbs. ”where did who go son?”. Lyden inquires as he brings his eyes to stare at the youthful gaze of his son.

”you know, everybody else? I only get to play with Jokurlos now, I never see the rest of your herd” glancing away from Lyden as though Alex is ashamed he even dares to ask the pale palomino erupts a small sigh. ”I’m not sure my son, perhaps they all had things that needed to be done outside of the forest.”. – hearing this Alex scrunches his nose ”they could have said something to you though. Aren’t you worried?”.
All Lyden could do was nod in agreement to his sons question just as the familiar call of Auriella drifted through the leaves.”of course my son, but no matter how worries I am for them, I must continue protecting those who are still here.” he pauses now allowing a faint smile to tug at the corners of his lips. ”like you and your mom”.

Twisting his velvet ears forward once he also heard his mother’s call Alex without thinking returns it with excitement. Curious eyes sparkle with excitement wanting nothing more but to head straight to his mother. Oh how he had missed her, where ever she went Alex prayed she wouldn’t do it again anytime soon. ”daddy let’s go protect her then!”. The excitement now no longer being contained, bursts through his body like an exploding firecracker just as his handsome yet still foolish son takes off ahead of where they stood towards Auriela.

”Alexander you be careful!” Lyden calls after him as he moves into an easy two beat gait heading in the same direction as Alex, where Aureila came into view shortly after just a few yards. The suns rays peaked in-between the leaves casting shadows in a criss-cross pattern gently bringing out the soft highlights of his beautiful mate. Alex had wasted absolutely no time and is already nearly apon her before slowing to a walk and instantly buring his nose and head underneath her chin as he breathes her in. ”oh mama I sure did miss you” stifling a sniffle Alex continues to stand there embracing this lovely moment all the while hearing his father finally catch up to him. Lyden wastes no time and wraps his neck around her withers and back snuggling her closer to him. ”my sweet auriela, I’m so glad to see you’re still around.” he pauses briefly ”I began to worry when I hadn’t seen you with the others, especially when I noticed those “others” vanished into thin air aside from you and jormungandr”
