"You could say the winds bring me here at this untimely hour...I am a wanderer and new to these parts. I wish to stay a while if it pleases you. I am willing to earn my keep should you be needing my services while I stay among your numbers." This time he did hesitate just a moment before replying. He knew he was trying the lead's patience by now. When he spoke, his tone was a bit more formal. This land was full of strange things to him. He had chanced to cross a fae with a peculiar accent, now here he was with a desert stallion that also seemed to have a different demeanor and way of seeing the world. He had heard desert dwellers to be of a different sort of stock...rather good stock at that...and had long wished to learn firsthand their ways. But this was also a need for a home base while he familiarized himself with this new realm.

"I don't believe I caught your name...though clearly you are the Master of this place. What shall I address you by?" Jasper had long been in the service of kings as a mercenary since his early youth. Unlike his bretheren, he was more equipped to handle the political workings in addition to the operational workings, meaning he could mingle with political elites as well as any noble and still perform...well, the dirty work assigned to him.
