Dragonmaw

Even with his warning, Dragonmaw’s curiosity was overwhelming, and as it always defeated her desire to be obedient to her stallion's command. So she weaved through the sticks, hardly noticing as the branches grabbed locks of her mane and scraped at her skin. For as nimble as she was, when she moved with such determination, she was an absolute tank, and very little stood in her way.

She had arrived with just enough time for her to witness Asp lurch forward for the intruding colt, and her interest was piqued. This was certainly better than standing around and waiting for her stallion to return. That was when the palomino female female quickly took the boy's place and confronts Asp. It was no secret that mothers were fiercely protective of their young, but the boy was no longer helpless and gangly.

While Dragonmaw was a (mostly) well-behaved mare, peaceful, even, it seemed out of character and completely bizarre when a sense of possessive protection overcame her, especially in regards to Asp. In fact, it was so out of character, even she felt awkward. And while she knew that her stallion was more than capable of protecting and defending himself, Dragonmaw somehow felt this was not his battle to fight. So the grulla mare went into motion once more. She pinned her ears against an ashy mane and her eyes bare down harshly at the desert-born mare (though in truth, she didn't have to look down too far. Evaline wasn't much smaller than she, herself was!). Though, for as aggressive as she looked, she does not lash out at the intruding mare who confronted and dared to speak to her stallion so rudely when Asp was only doing what any stallion would do to a young male stranger in his turf. “ Then keep a better eye on your child, who, by the looks of it, doesn't need much in the ways of protecting. At least, not by you. “ She said almost threateningly.

In truth, Dragonmaw was not exactly winning any awards for mother of the year. That wasn't to say she was a bad mother, but she lacked any real experience, as she had only been two when she met asp, and her first foal was born two springs ago. The one that stirred within her was only her second, but even Dragonmaw knew better than to let her little ones venture too far. “ You should be apologizing, not condemning my stallion for doing what any good stallion would do. “ she added and then continued, “ And then you have the audacity to try and throw your rank among your herd around like it matters to us? Lady, you have another thing coming if you think us cowardly to consider you anything other than the whelp you are. “
