When ever he ever gets real near
It’s my cue to bolt and run
He’ll steal my heart, is what I fear
And use it for his own fun
My mind says go ahead be bold
But my heart’s afraid of harm
He has a gentle honest soul
And a demeanor filled with charm
His compassion touched the inner me
His kindness moved my soul
Should I say, “let’s do and see”
Could his love make me whole?
He spoke with gentle caring praise
To show me how to trust
If he pursues in subtle ways
Then my heart will adjust.
