As time goes on,
Life passes us by.
Even though my tears are gone,
I still ask myself why.
I question the decisions I’ve made,
And try to make up for my past mistakes.
Through the sea of failures, I wade,
Trying to lessen the pain that this void creates.
I try to live my life secure,
Avoiding the obstacles blocking my way.
Yet the doubt makes my future unsure,
While my heart urges me to stay.
All the while I walk this dusty street,
Lost in thought about my misty memories.
My heart lays broken at my feet,
As life presents worse possibilities.
All I know is that I miss you,
Even the thought of your name hurts me so.
After all, love is meant for two,
A bandage cannot reduce this magnitude of sorrow.
So I leave you with these last few words,
As long as my love stays alive.
I would walk these broken worlds,
So that our love may thrive.
