Olaf stood on the edge of the oasis, closest to the river. His caramel eyes swept over the herd and then panned out over the rest of the dunes for any signs of danger. Although there were very few that stumbled into Salem’s clutches, he was still vigilant in case that happened - Ai’dah and Bloodmane had been wanderers afterall, but not all stallions would be as (relatively) peaceable as Bloodmane had been. Other stallions might try and steal from the dunes herd.

A sharp snort left his nostrils as Warsong’s whinny reached his ears. He did not go to her right away as he saw some of the others do but instead began a wide circle around the herd to bring in the stragglers. He couldn’t be sure what the speckled mares intentions were, but he knew the whole herd needed to hear it. They had been at the oasis for some time now and it would do them no good if they relocated without everyone being aware.

When he finished his sweep, he halted at the rear of the herd, ready to push them onwards if Warsong wished to move elsewhere. His gaze swept over those who had arrived and were already beginning to interact, noting that Bloodmane had a few extra mares now. It had not taken him long to pad out his herd, a much shorter time than it took many of the stallions on the island.

He eyed Bloodmane, Warsong and a painted mare he didn’t know carefully, noting there could be trouble brewing. A black mare roused him from these thoughts by asking about a blind stallion and if anyone had seen him. Olaf snorted, thinking it over only briefly. ”I have only seen a partially blind mare and a colt. No stallions” he stated flatly, wondering what use she could possibly have for something so useless.
