ONLY THE STRONG WILL SURVIVE

MAGNUS & NEMAIN

MAGNUS knew the favourable weather of the summer had been too good to be true; they always say that a good summer means a bad winter – whoever they were. The weather hadn’t been overly terrible up to this point, but a sudden drop in temperature signified that something entirely unpleasant was coming. They all surely felt it, and it made them uneasy. The spotted boy could see everyone moving around and shifting awkwardly in response to the atmosphere.

JUST as the bald faced boy decided that he would need to move his girls to shelter – mostly for the sake of poor-sighted Moonstike, he heard Soljor’s call. Nemain, who was rooting for grass beneath the snow next to him startled and squealed before promptly finding her mother. Nemain might technically be weaned now, but that didn't mean she was too old to go to her mother for comfort. Magnus moved from the far side of the group , where he and his mares stood, and drifted closer to Soljor as he was sure to have something important to say. It seemed the lead stallion had the same idea as the boy, though Soljor probably understood how bad it could be more than Magnus did.

”ON it.” Magnus affirmed, with a stamp of his hoof into the hard snow, at Soljor’s words. He then turned to begin the process of rounding up the stragglers, glancing toward Fly who would no doubt be preparing to lead the other mares to the caves. He hoped his girls would move with her without too much trouble.
