Well they have changed their stance a bit since there has been confirmed evidence at the quabbin twice now, and other evidence in past years. They now will mostly tell people "its unlikely but possible you saw one that was walking through, but it is probably an escaped pet". This despite no evidence whatsoever its an escaped pet. In fact, the CT cat was proven NOT to be.
