Freebies are often granted to "all active characters". A character is considered active if it has made an IC post within the last 2 weeks. Posts made after the freebie was posted do not count.

there are currently 69 playerless characters. some have familiars (including one mythical familiar), some have coins/powers/traits, and all range in levels from 1 - 3. some have parents within shaman, but most were joined.
playerless characters can be claimed at any time via the updates board. there are no rules or restrictions which come with them, and you can do anything you like with them. you can also make up any information which is not in the database (including personality, history, appearance, etc).
to try and help adopt some of these poor charries out, for the whole of the month of march anyone who claims a playerless character will get a free database glitch. a database glitch enables you to change the character's name or sex. so instead of creating a new character with 0 points, you could claim a character already on level 2 or 3, or who has a coin or a familiar, and just change their name to one you like. :)
