Now that I'm old
And my life's story's been told
It becomes clear to me
That god favored me
He gave me the skills
That I would need
I could have been a banker, store keeker, or a carpenter you see
But now I realize that god favored me
He taught me to rope and ride
And how to live free
We spent long days on the prairie, just
him and me
We would spend our days talking
And sometimes we would disagree
But through all the years
We became friends him and me
The reason I know god favored me
God turned me into a cowboy don't you see
