this city never sleeps at night; any

brother to jay

Verdin found himself once again in water, swimming away from the Meadow and heading towards the cold island he was drawn to. Not only did he enjoy a break from the hot weather, which was luckily starting to cool down, but he also kept a lookout for his sister. The stallion knew she loved the cold, more so than he ever could. He hoped that she had sought out one of the herds on this island instead of another.

His swim had been uneventful; before long he was trotting up onto the beach and stopping to shake out his mane. It currently wasn't too cold, but it was definitely chillier than where he had been before. A light wind ruffled his drying hair. The pale stallion started up the beach and stopped before he moved onto the grass and dirt of this territory. It was different than the one he had washed up on before. He wanted to go exploring for his sister, but he was nervous that an aggressive stallion would chase him off. He had learned his lesson multiple times over, and it had never been pleasant.

He shifted his weight and whinnied out to the land, deciding it wasn't worth angering another stallion.
