Snapping Turtle digging nest this early. They started on June 2nd in 2013 and June 3rd in 2014. I would think it is far too early for Snapping Turtles to be digging nests on May 1st. Turtles have been out for about a week now but I am interested in why this Snapping Turtle is digging on the road shoulder.
Could you check it out next time you are out that way?
