Time to reflect. Posted on 5/11/2015 at 02:45:13 PM by Tom
I just got done reading the Sandusky Register our local paper. In it was a story of a register writer going for a ride in a monster truck. It brought back a wonderful memory for myself and my grandson Riley. Ya see Riley has Cerebal Palsy with a lot of complications. back a few years ago a man by the name of Kevin Ruic had Riley get into a monster truck and not only a ride but, actually doing jumps and burn outs. It took some time to get him up in the truck and strap him into his own seat but they did it. Sometimes we forget about the good in some people. If you were there at Mansfield that day, not a dry eye in the place with the 10,000 people at the track and a standing ovation, and a hell of a event. Things did not develop for the speedway and of course we hoped it would. Since I am out of it now on the Mansfield Speedway Crew and who da hell knows who is involved in it now, usually secrets on Supermodfied events and issues and it is a shame. All I know being in the Telephone & Paging business, if it ain't working ya "Accept it, ya change it or ya get the hell out"! But this article is not about Supermodfieds, promotors car owners, drivers, sponcers it is about a promotor (The only one by the way)who made a handicapped kids day & his family memoriable. Thanks you Kevin Ruic, you put on paper just what many people are thinking. For you people who stay positive and work hard on Supermodfied Racing, best of luck this season, it will be difficult, but with safe, fan friendly, good promotors it can be done, Thank you. Replies:
