News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Things had finally opened up! For what seemed like forever, Diveen had been under a thick layer of snow and ceaseless coastal winds that ripped through the ravines and hammered at the den. It had been more frustrating above all else, as it had begun to hinder her efforts to explore. After all, she had charted all of Diveen by now, but the winter had stopped her from heading west to the loner lands. It hardly seemed fair! Ame had gotten to explore with their mother, though he had remained rather tight lipped about the specifics of their time together. It had made Yuki huff and puff for some time, disenchanted with the idea of having lost out on a new story. That's all she wanted to do, after all: collect and conjure up stories, or be a part of them. Whichever, really. Both were alluring to the adventurous mind of the young girl.

So, when the world had opened back into spring, she had been all too eager to venture off immediately into the warm days and fields of flowers. She had grown larger during the winter, and though her parents still lingered often in the background of her life, she had more opportunity to slip free from Diveen's borders. She had been north before - to the plains, Asteraia - but that was no longer her friend's home. Had her mind wondered immediately to her friend the minute the sky had opened up? Well, of course. It only made sense. She had so much to tell Semele, after all. They had been apart so long! If she didn't tell her soon, she'd either explode or forget. Plus, it gave her the perfect opportunity to sniff her out and explore somewhere new.

So, with the morning sun low in the sky, she had slipped across the borders and begun her trek north-west. Semele had mentioned Spirane, after all, as brief as it might have been. Either way, even if she was not there, Yuki had all the intentions in the world of exploring the looming mountain. Her father had plans, soon she supposed, to visit and so, it would work flawlessly. She'd go visit and then, she'd get him to take her home and they'd enjoy some delicious snacks on the way home. She had it all worked out! It was just a matter of getting there: slow and tiring with several extended breaks in hollowed out logs and sprawled out on rocks, panting before pulling herself together. By the time she had gotten there, she could not help but groan as she looked up at the looming tower of stone before her. At least, she figured, she had some experience in that kind of climbing thanks to the steepness of Diveen at times. Of course, she spent several moments ensuring her fur had not grown tawdry during her journey; smoothed, prim and proper. She had to give off a good impression, after all, especially because she was technically trespassing.

Finally, she began her climb, catching wind of her companion's call from what seemed like forever way. It made her perk up though, inspiring her and sending her on long, fleeting steps uphill. She had become almost over excited to make her way there, her face alive with a toothy grin and yet, she had not been the first to arrive. Instead, somebody else had made it there - somebody dark, somebody who held themselves proudly. Of course, it hardly bothered Yuki. Being from Diveen had meant she had frequent encounters with proud wolves. Rather than dwell on his identity - or the fact that he had beaten her - she merely flashed him a crooked grin as she ambled towards Semele, practically having flopped down beside her in a crouch-like sit. She let out a heavy sigh, finally having caught her breath.

"Do you run up that every day? Your legs are going to be so strong at this rate."

She lightheartedly made the observation, though it had clearly been laced in jest. If anything, she expected their legs to turn to jelly and simply... fall off. Of course, she had not idea she may have interrupted something important. All she knew is that she had found her friend and thus, that's all that mattered. The otherwise quiet stranger was just another part of that joy. Though she had paid him little heed initially, she had looked to him finally with a tilted head.

"I didn't see you on my way up. Were you even higher? Just how high does this place go?"

She was full of questions. Full of simple joy. For now, she had no reservations and no idea on who she had walked in on. All she knew was that she had finally gotten into a comfortable position beside Semele, and that it felt just... natural to be there, she supposed.
