Champions Tennis – Henman Returns to Royal Albert Hall

Tim Henman is back in training and preparing to compete at the Royal Albert Hall in December as part of an all-star field in the Champions Tennis event, 2-6 December, 2015.

Henman, a former World No.4 who reached six Grand Slam semifinals, made his first appearance at the iconic venue in 2010.

“It is a thrill to still be able to play a sport I love in front of great crowds like those that we get every year at the Champions Tennis,” said Henman. “The Royal Albert Hall is a wonderful venue. It’s a little like Wimbledon in that it has history around every corner and down every corridor. I very much look forward to competing in the tournament and hope that everyone comes out to support us in December.”

Henman won the event in 2011 and is one of the most popular players in action every year.

Last year, he lost out to eventual champion Fernando Gonzalez in a thrilling contest.

During his career, Henman reached four Wimbledon semifinals, most memorably losing to Goran Ivanisevic over three days in 2001. He also reached the Roland Garros and US Open semifinals in 2004. He was the British No.1 for many years, sparking ‘Henmania’ every year for more than a decade.

Champions Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall is the season-finale to the ATP Champions Tour and is played over five days, with two sessions each day - one in the afternoon, one in the evening. As well as Henman, many of the world’s most popular and well-known legends of the sport and tennis stars of today will come together on London’s greatest stage, with further announcements made in due course.

Champions Tennis has enjoyed record ticket sales for 2015 and tickets are available from £23.50 at www.championstennis.co.uk/tickets/ or by calling the Royal Albert Hall box office on +44 (0) 20 7070 4404. Hospitality packages are available via www.championstennis.co.uk/hospitality/ or by calling +44 (0) 20 8233 5854.
