Vaaco

Frigid ocean water envelops the sooty stallion as he strikes out from the Crossing, powerful muscles propel him from familiarity into the unknown. Yet, the he strikes out with no fear, his brothers did not allow fear amongst their ranks. With vigilance they taught their boys how to deal with such a useless emotion. From island to island he had wandered, but with each island he was unwelcome. A stranger, a threat to those who inhabited it. With out a single exchange of words, he would leave their shores fading into the oceans waters. Until he reaches the vacant shores of this forest island. The weather was temperate, mild compared to the others. Here the snow quietly layers itself, no frigid gusts of wind.
Hooves touch the sand, it shifts beneath his weight. His head raises high on his muscled neck, as it rotates to and fro. Ashen eyes dart over the territory before him, a thick forest, lays out before him. A thin layer of snow covers all of the leafless trees before him, it was strangely quiet. In fading light of the day, he wanders deeper into the forest. All is quiet, except for the occasional snap of a branch or the crunch of a downed branch on the trail. He slows at a clearings edge, his ears flick.
There was a movement on the other side of the clearing, Vaaco's nostrils flare. The scent was of another stallion, a smirk touches his sooty lips. Vaaco opens his maw, he lets a bugle ring from his lips. If this was the lead of this territory, he had allowed Vaaco into his territory and probably didn't even know it. Vaaco steps from the cover of the forest, his muscles ripple beneath his tawny hide, as he strides into the clearing. He halts within a few strides, Vaaco waits for him to make his entrance.
