There were always circumstances that could change the moment. If Covet had leaped a fraction too late he might have been thrown into a rock and killed, perhaps, or if Veilia had tripped over her own paw she might have lost them the prize of the deer and be forced with the ire of the lone wolf. Instead things played out perfectly well for as her teeth ground around the spine so did his around the windpipe. In only a matter of moments the deer had realized it's grand mistake only to find that there would be no second chances. Instead it's body would be consumed to further fuel the life of both Veilia and Covet but also the little animals of the world. A slinking fox that watched from a nook in the rocks with quivering limbs, ready for the moment when the two wolves would finish their feast so it could dart in and have a tasty morsel. Or the vultures that had already begun to appear on the horizon with wicked long black wings, noses calling them to fresh blood. Life had a way of destroying one while nourishing another and Veilia didn't begrudge that. Even if the poor deer did.

She felt it's spine flex within her jaws just once as it's windpipes were being crushed, felt those back legs jerk in aftermath before it fell still and with that she releases her death hold and snaps her teeth together once, twice, enough to get the feel of them in place. By this time Covet has already begun to move around to the swollen belly and his growl has her hackles standing on end, lips replying in kind as she growls back at him in warning should he try his luck at her as well. Yet his growl is not followed with a rush or a snarl, only enough to tell her that there was something he wanted and she waits on the other side of the deer, ears half back while she watches him warily rip into the stomach and pull out the liver.

Well, if that was all he wanted the he could have it, she thought, circling around the moment he moves to the neck once more. She positions herself at the open belly now, her body sinking down into a tense laying position while she leans her muzzle on and begins to rip and tear, swallowing pieces of flesh quickly before nosing into the innards, ripping and pulling as she crawls as well to get to the heart. Blood stains her pristine pelt, covering up her head and onto her skull, splashing across her chest and now brushing onto her shoulders as she finds what she wants and pulls it out, eating it quickly.

She pauses midway so that her vibrant eyes can look over at the male to make sure he has not come nearer before continuing on, eating until her belly feels as if it is about to explode. Only then does she draw out with a huff of breath, standing slowly and taking a few steps back, ears flicking about. "I am Veilia." Her voice, normally smooth and dulcet, is somewhat cracked from all the blood and overeating and she immediately offers him her name. By now he has earned it.
