if the eyes had no tears

Contently, she grazes, the only sounds were that of the grass swaying around her and the rhythmic sound of her chewing. She closes her crystal eyes briefly, she enjoys the sun as it warms her back. The sound of the foals playing nearby interrupts her eating every few moments, but she would not have it any other way. It was the way of the children, to frolic and make all sorts of noises. A few delighted squeals echo across the Prairie, followed by the angry squeal of a foal who did not think it was a fun game. She lifts her head briefly, and catches a glimpse of Valentine. He grazes not far from her, it was peculiar, that he had chosen to stay near to the foals on this day. She notices the change in his pattern, but does not read further into it.

Just then, a scream rips through the air, Onawa' instantly raises her head. Her ears twitch, along with every muscle within her body. Her crystal blue eyes instantly dart around for Chumani, she breaths a sigh of relief when her eyes fall on the splashed yearling. Then her attention is brought back to Valentine, who in a flurry of movement was now streaking across the grasses. Onawas' gaze flicks to the mares of the herd once more, before she pivots and stretches herself into a gallop. Her legs become a blur of movement as she follows the wake of bent grasses. She breaks from the long grasses and onto the well trodden ground besides the river, her eyes instantly sweep the river. There, easily finds the cremello mare, Dock. Onawa' had only spoke to the girl a few times. She instantly from the time of their first meeting as felt protective of the young girl.

---

Chumani's ears flick a top her head, her crystal blue eyes flick over the other foals. There of course was one missing. Oswin. That sister of hers was going to end up getting herself in trouble. With a soft snort, Chumani looks over at her mother. It was not long after, that a scream rips through the prairie. Chumani's crystal eyes instantly turn in the direction. Oswin! In a flurry of motion both of her parents, leap into action. She only remains standing for a moment, before she leaps into a lope. Her ears pin into her two toned mane.

---

As she nears the trio, she only slows a fraction, before veering to the right. She splashes into the river, just as Valentine comes catapulting forward. Her ears are buried in her ebony tresses. As she nears them, she slows to a choppy trot, her mouth opens. She bares her teeth at the young stallion, and readies for a follow up attack if needed. If the young stallion decides to wisely, leave the Prairie, she would chase after him until the bank on the other side of the river.

---

Chumani slows to a trot, as she nears Oswin, Foxglove, and Firethorn. The oldest girls whimper and scream as they watch their father. She snuggles in close to the Oswin, so that she is sandwiched between her and Firethorn. Chumani lifts her head, her body shakes with fear but she tries to hide it. She reaches her pink nose down to bump her little sister, before returning her attention on the scuffle.
