15.3hh - Gypsy Vanner - Lead of the Inlet

Pagan waited patiently while Nephiliam approached and gave him the familiar greetings. He noticed the younger stallion relax visibly and himself let out a mental breath of relief. They could speak to each other civilly and calmly, clearly neither meaning the other outright harm. Their homes had enough in store for them.

”Indeed.” He replied at his name, nodding his head slightly. ”And you are Nephiliam. The vanner smiled pleasantly at the welcome, his eyes roaming over the terrain. He took in the ever so subtle differences between the two lands, which were not many, and comforted himself briefly with the fact that he was happy he had come to his home and that he desired no other. Even a place so similar did not bring him the growing comfort his own land was starting to create in him.

Pleasantly, his ears twitched back and forth, from Nephiliam, to a bird passing overhead, to the wind playing in the leaves of the brush. He gave no indication of being ill at ease, hoping the stallion would take that cue and they could understand each other to be reasonable.

”Thank you, for the welcome. I had been hoping to come by, but winter makes travel more than unpleasant.” He wondered what the other did to protect himself from the cold winds. The patches of trees that dotted the Inlet seemed more scarce here, and he did not know if he was blessed with the steamy geysers like he had been. Before much silence could pass between the two of them, he carried on to the reason he had crossed his border. ”I do not know what kind of a stallion you are, but I hope we can be at peace with each other, and possibly help each other if we ever needed it. I offer safety, or at least truce, to you and your’s, if you cross my borders.” His ears pinned back at a thought. ”I will not abide by anyone trying to sneak away those who have come to live with me… ….but should any mare or filly of mine chose to willingly go with you, I will not tell them no.” The vanner thought for a moment, considering the spotted stallion before him. ”A few of them may even be convinced to look to your territory as home in the future.”
