The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Now My Watch Begins; It Shall Not End Until My Death

The ivory pelted brute really had no idea what he was doing, approach another lupine at the borders of a pack that he didn’t even know if he belonged to it or not. He still remembered when he had gone to the varg that had called a pack meeting, walking straight over the border to go into the pack that was already beginning to gather. He had to gather up his pride and ask to be accepted, to give loyalty this a lupine he knew nothing about. But, though Ghost would never admit it, he craved to be accepted, to be wanted….to be loved. And there was no way that that was going to happen if he did not join a pack and try to find a family. The brujo had done his research though. He knew he would not fit in with any pack. The friendlier ones, like Saw Tooth and Bright Moon would not work for him, he needed his space and to not be smothered. And the packs of Abendrot and Malignant Felicity would not suit his personality either, though he was a warrior he was not as brutal as those vargs. But Andere Seite held warriors within its borders, but not the type that went out of their way to harm others and did not go into each other’s business, they kept to themselves and seemed like they could his needs.

But when he first came into the lands and asked for acceptance he had not officially gotten accepted, and had only assumed, hoped really, that it was okay for him to be staying there and calling himself a member of Andere Seite. And without official acceptance should he be doing a border patrol and approaching a lupine that was standing at the borders, covered in dried blood? He had no idea, but like the awkward brute he was he approached anyways, speaking to the identically colored varg. The other brute stared at him silently for a few moments, and the red orbed brute awkwardly shuffled his paws, unsure of what to do. Finally he spoke, “NeMO. All I am doing is returning home.” Of course he had to come and start questioning someone that already lived here, he really was making a good impression to his pack mate. ”Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that you were part of this pack. Honestly I don’t know many of the members here…I’m still trying to figure out what I’m doing.” Ghost didn’t know why he was speaking so freely with this stranger, he did not often talk to those that he did not know well, but he kept opening his maw and letting his vocals spill out as if he could not control it.

The other brute spoke once more, saying something that took Ghost by surprise. “You smell like a virgin.” His red orbs widened, audettes perking at the words, ”Wha…what?” Before Ghost could say anything else a call rang through the trees, not the same vocals as the last one that called a pack meeting but one of authority. Ghost turned his head in the direction of the unknown vocals, but when he turned back to NeMo he was already gone. What a bizarre being, but he shook out his thick pelt and then quickly trotted through the trees in the direction of the call. The meeting seemed to be taking place in the middle of the pack, where the last one had taken place. A large brute stood before NeMo and Athene, the female that he had met not too long ago. Ghost did not want to admit it, but he did not know who this other varg was. How stupid he was for calling himself a member of this pack but not knowing many of the lupines within. It was clear though that this was the one that had called them to a meeting, he must be the new alpha.

Ghost stepped through the trees, nodding politely in greeting to Athene as he padded towards the crimson brute. His red orbs glanced at NeMo for a moment, but quickly looked away, remembering the last thing he had said to him before departing. ”Um, hello, my name’s Ghost. I came to the last meeting that was called to ask for a place in your pack. If you will have me, I pledge my loyalty to you and whatever you may need of me.” He never had been good with speaking, and it was obvious as the words spluttered out of his mouth. The white brute was not sure where to place himself, so he sat between NeMo and Athene, waiting to see what the alpha would say to him and who else would appear. His red orbs awkwardly kept glancing towards the other ivory brute, wondering what he was thinking after their meeting.
