The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

It was a lie to say that Kobato had not been genuinely terrified when Kenshin had thrown her into a den much too small for her and had settled himself right outside of the entrance. Her body ached and she was sure she was bleeding from a cut on her brow. The last time she had been this close to danger had been years ago. Years before she even knew Vladya or Serris. It was not a good memory to recall to the princesses mind. Was it days before she was allowed to see the light of day again? Perhaps this was to murder her spirit. To wrench away all that she had. But the fae clutched it tightly as a spell to ward away the dark. She was not easily broken. And though she felt sorry for those who were, she did not pity them. For they had chosen to let go of that gemstone in their hearts. And Kershov hoarded those very same precious stones as a dragon does his treasure. But this King was a different sort of dragon than Kobato’s own blood-eyed one. Gracefully as she could, Ko squeezed out of her prison and shook off her pelt, ridding herself of the dirt and grime that had gathered on her. A quick look to the canopy had her eyes wishing she’d done just the opposite, dilating them far too quickly and leaving her with a headache and dark soot sprites crawling before her vision. When she blinked them away, Kenshin was no longer by her side. Yet… Her auds swiveled and her head turned to the side. He was still there. Watching carefully. Kobato exhaled slowly, readied herself and took off into the territory she’d only snuck into in order to visit Vladya while he was a prisoner himself.

The doe moved through the bush, memorizing each part as if she were going to map the place out. At one point in time she came across a few wolves that were speaking with one another, but she did not approach. The dried blood on her brow was caked and itching. It needed to be cleaned. The tri colored Valkyrie slowly slipped away from them, careful not to be seen or heard. It was not yet time for her to greet her captors. When she was far enough away, she continued her search for water. It was difficult to find, that was for sure. And every once in a while she would catch the slink of a shadow that was not quite natural. It was too quick and too lithe. It unnerved her to have Kenshin following her every move… it unnerved her to be in this territory. But alas, she was an exiled princess. She would have to become strong in order to challenge Kershov, both mentally and physically. Although it would not be for leadership that she would do so. But rather for freedom. And if she survived it… she would be more than ready to challenge for a pack of her own and become the Queen she longed to be. So with her head held high, the ess travelled an unknown grid, placing things and planning it out. Soon her body brought her to a small stream, where she looked around for others before she determined it to be safe and took to its refreshing waters. Kobato took her time while she bathed herself as thoroughly as she could. And when she was finished, she shook off the clinging water droplets and continued on, merely walking around the whole of Abendrot, ready to jump into someone’s life at any point in time.
