MSA Supermodifieds Invade Midvale for Thirty Lap Event
(SANDUSKY, OH, July 12th, 2015)-This Saturday, July 18th, the winged warriors of the Midwest Supermodified Association will take to the three-tenths mile Midvale Speedway in New Philadelphia, Ohio for their only scheduled appearance of 2015. This event is sure to live up to the speedway’s long running moniker ‘Thunder in the Valley’ as the supermodifieds often push nine-hundred horsepower in the big block Chevrolet motors that dominate the scene for “the world’s fastest short track racecars”.
Point leader Charlie Schultz will lead the division’s charge into the pristine facility, coming off of a second place finish at Spitzer Motor Speedway (formerly known as Mansfield Motorsports Speedway). Schultz also won in the last contest the MSA winged roadsters put together at Midvale, with a thrilling victory on August 16th of last year. The July date returns to the former schedule that MSA ran during the early 2000s after testing with the August date in the last three years.
Jon Henes will also be in competition after dominating all thirty laps of the feature at Spitzer a few weeks ago. Henes, aboard the #36 Perfection Fabricators machine, will be searching for his fifth feature win at his fifth different circuit this weekend at Midvale.
The speedway’s late model, street stock, compact and mini truck divisions will round out the action card for Saturday’s events. The pits of the southern Ohio facility will begin to fill around 2:30 in the afternoon with practice beginning at the three o’clock hour. Qualifications will begin at 4:45, giving way to racing action at 6:30. For more information, visit midvalespeedway.com or like the speedway on Facebook by searching ‘Midvale Speedway’!
