. CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site
There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities.
This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only.
We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund.
Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster.

It is with heavy heart that I write to you today.
Having had a fairly difficult last few days, in and out of hospital, it has become clear that my illness is preventing me doing very much at all, and that what I am able to do is not being accomplished to the standard I demand of myself.
My consultant describes me as being exhausted due to the lack of proper sleep and having to cope with a lot of pain and various other nasties caused by the cancer.
She has advised that I retire from any roles which have a real commitment and to that end I hereby tender my resignation from the position of Chairman of the Fusiliers Association (Lancashire)
I hope that this does not create too much extra work for anyone.
I know that the Deputy Chairman, Alan Noble, will steer the ship perfectly well until a replacement is found, and I also hope that strong consideration be given to appoint Captain (retd) John Jones who has expressed his willingness to take over should that be the wish of Col Ian B. Having said all that, my demise is not anticipated for some considerable time and I shall try to ensure that it is measured in years, it is simply that a younger fitter man is needed.
I shall not be at Minden in Bury, and John Jones would not be available, perhaps Pete Barton could lay our wreath?
You all know me very well and will understand I hope how reluctantly I have arrived at this decision.
I shall now concentrate on getting as well as possible for our September trip to tour the Flanders battlefields.
