A single ear swivelled at the sound of her giggle but Olaf made no other acknowledgement that he’d heard it and proceded as if he hadn’t – he had decided to let her win this game after all. As he swung his head around another a tree, he caught a glimpse of red and white darting behind a trunk behind him and had to stifle a chuckle while he continued to “look for her”. Olaf could often be accused of being a rather serious individual but that was more due to circumstance than him not being playful or knowing how to have fun. He was thankful that things had finally settled down enough for everyone, including himself, to enjoy themselves.

He kept up his pretence, even when she was close enough for him to feel her breath against his skin followed by a nip. Swinging around to face her, he bumped his muzzle against her shoulder, “I guess you found me this time” he informed her. She settled then, seemingly tired of the game and he flicked an ear in her direction when she sighed but only turned his full attention to her when she spoke. She hadn’t mentioned how happy she was to have him back before, but there were times when he though he knew without her having to say it – and other times he wondered if she was happy at all (like when she had gone into pseudo-hiding). He wondered how things would have turned out if he had retrieved Jörmungandr sooner and therefore never left, or if he had been able to take Chianti and Warsong with him – though the latter would probably never have stayed.

Taking after his mother’s side of the family, Olaf had never been a stallion of many words so when Chianti finished speaking, he didn’t have a lot to say in return. ”Then it is a good thing that neither of us are going anywhere. he stated, briefly running his muzzle over her cheek.
