Whether it had been a question or not, Taika could not seem to control her excitement in answering him to the fullest. Yes! I guess! My mom and I are from the Peak! But I run with the Sun and Star gods! And chase the wind on the grass! As if to prove her point she lept away from the colt, bucking and kicking around in the streams waters. I may be ‘from the crossing’, but I go anywhere!
She stopped her constant motion again, stilling herself to hear his words. When he spoke, and what he spoke of, were more exciting to her than being praised with the gift of pixie dust. the idea and concept of other islands, other places to go, new places to see were overwhelming to her mind. In the seasons she had been alive she had travelled from her mother almost every day and had explored the Crossing almost to the fullest (she had been warned to never go into the Lagoon). This colt spoke of so much more than she had experienced, and he spoke of it with the desire that had fueled her from her birth.
As he continued to speak, the foal could not help but start to pace. She wanted to go there. She wanted to see these islands, explore them to their fullest, go on adventures. Dark chocolate eyes kept glancing over at Skoll while he spoke of these realities that to her seemed like things made truly of fantasy. Her mother had told her of other lands, different horses, many cultures. But here stood a horse that seemed to know for certain instead of merely talking about it.
With a snort she threw her hooves into the air, and pawed out in excitement.
Maybe some of these sea monsters can be our friends! She came back to the earth and looked over at him. Her eyes were agleam with her overpowering thirst for adventure. I’ll show you the Peak, then we can go to these islands? She asked excitedly, her heart racing and breath coming short in her thrill.
