Mountain lion does not come in a black color. The black panther is folk lore. There is however a black jaguar its black because it is melanistic. I do know however that there have been sighting is a darker colored large wild cat in northern and western nh that and linda McCracken a local ML advocate has seen it. The species at this time is u known probably a hybrid breed.
