Sköll’s mother and grandsire had told him many stories about the Gods and creatures that used to be rife when their ancestors had been alive. Gravewolf had suggested that most of the creatures were extinct now and that the Gods had retreated to Asgard and Vanaheimr. Sköll knew that they still existed though despite Vargr’s claims that they were just fantasy stories – that they had never been real. Vargr was always trying to ruin his fun. It made far more sense for his older brother to be lying than it did for the stories to be untrue. Creatures such as those he heard about could not just be dreamt up out of thin air.
The painted boy frowned, pondering her words. ”Just…follow her around? Huh. I don’t think that’d be so bad if she went cool places. Is is just Ysabella that claims stallions? Maybe we’ll keep out of her way just in case.” not that he was worried. Following some mare about might be boring, but if he got assigned to follow the filly, they could explore together without his mother getting all annoyed about him getting home late. Maybe Ysabella was like them and needed Rodrigo to help her explore and possibly to save her in tricky situations. Everyone knew mare weren’t as good at fighting and stallions!
Talk turned to fathers and Taika’s confused expression was mirrored in Sköll’s. He frowned a little, cocking his head. ”Of course I do. Everyone has a mother and a father. Don’t you?” How would that even be possible? Even the God’s had two parents (and sometimes more!). ”Oh, yeah, that could be it." he agreed, pretending he knew what a moonchild was. He made a note to ask Gravewolf before they left him and Vargr in the lagoon.
”Do I ever!" he exclaimed when she enquired about going to the top and talking to star fairies, ”Race you?"
