Bright Moon - a land sullied by mystery and the ravaging scars of a terrible fire. Abandoned as a pack land for years, the terra has been used as a gathering place for the brazen and bloodthirsty drawn there by the lingering pall of death. Yet from the ashes there comes an unordained phoenix, the rainbow hues of hope glinting in her mismatched globes. Through the obsidian drapes obscuring the scenery, she alone was able to catch the perfumed aroma of new life on the breeze and hear the sluggish streams flowing ever swifter into the morning.

Thus, with a purpose, she set out to map the incognita, discovering daily the extent of the reawakening and unearthing within herself a desire to return the landscape to its former glory. Now she stands tall as privileged Alpha of the lands, lording over the rock-strewn prairie and bountiful forests with a firm but gentle paw.

Having finally realized her deepest longing to be a queen, Satowra is focused solely on the revival and maintenance of the Bright Moon Pack. Her question to each prospective warrior that comes to the border is simple:

"Do you have what it takes?"

My lip quirks in amusement when I see the surprise on the new wolf's features as soon as the young pup starts talking. Apparently he had expected a play invite or something and instead she's giving him the political once over. I like her already. The moment his body stiffens, I feel my own stiffen in response just because he looks so uncertain. Who's to say he's stable enough in mind not to attack a pup who he feels may be a threat? Until he gains my trust, I'm not taking any chances, already taking a step forward to remind him that he's no longer alone with the child and she has back up if needed. When he hears me approach, he jumps a little and my ears fold back slightly, lowering my head to make myself look harmless so he knows that I'm not here to threaten him. While I don't fully trust him with the pup, I at least don't want him to think he's not welcome here.

He gives his name as Darius and I give him a warm smile, listening as his voice trails off when he comes to the reason for joining. I tilt my head a little in puzzlement. Can he not think of a reason? It's like he's rolling through different ones in his head. Does he have that many or is he trying to come up with a good lie? It's so hard to read wolves these days. His answer, when it does come, is not something to squeeze my heart strings but at least it is an answer. It makes it seem like he just stumbled on Bright Moon and decided it was as good a place as any but I guess you can't always find a place and just know that it's where you belong. I nod my head in acknowledgement. "As good a reason as any, I suppose." I say with a soft smile to let him know I am pleased with it so he doesn't get nervous again.

As I catch a whiff of my alpha's cologne, I turn my head, my eyes already brighter to see him, my tail wagging behind me as he rubs against me in greeting. I reach my nose out to touch his neck, a gesture of trust and affection as he goes to the pup. He uses his body posture to tell the wolf who he is, introducing himself and asking for the wolf's loyalty. As he tells Darius my name, I nod my head in acknowledgement with a smile, noting that he seems to be saying it for the pup's benefit as well. And then he confirms my suspicions by calling the young girl his daughter. I make sure to memorize her name. He looks to me the, giving me a short explanation and my eyes widen at the thougth of someone dying giving birth. My expression softens in sympathy to him, letting him know silently that I am here if he wants to talk about it at a later point. My golden gaze drifts to Nzingha, showing no pity because I know that isn't what anyone wants to see. Instead I show her only loyalty and support, dipping my head to her in respect and greeting to show her I'd like to be friends.

"It's an honor to meet you, Nzingha. I look forward to getting to know you better." I offer her a friendly smile and wag my tail. I've never been shy about playing games with puppies or even if she just wants to talk like adults. Either is fine. She does have my unflinching loyalty because if Summer cares about her, then mine comes along with it. I look back to Darius, noting the hesitation in his expression at Summer's words. My ears flick back and forth in puzzlement. Does he have a reason for not wanting to answer right away? I don't know how to understand this wolf yet. He makes a point of not looking into Summer's eyes which I'm not sure what to think, but his words sound sincere enough. I offer him a smile. "Then welcome to the pack, Darius."

I recall the fond sound from Nzingha's throat as she nuzzled Summer and I can tell that she already thinks a lot of him. When he announces my rank, I glance at Nzingha curiously, seeing the way she seems to be measuring me up. What does she think of me? Is friendship a possibility with her or does she see me as a threat to her relationship with her father? The last thing I want to do is get between them and if anything, her connection to him only makes my loyalty that much fiercer for her.
