After reading the Executive meetings of the Pension Board in regards to the Ribaya Law Suit, I must COMMEND the Board for doing their Fiduciary Duty and settling this case without any more expense to the fund.
This case was fostered by the previous Plan Administrator Jennifer Campbell, Police Trustees PJ Gray & Rich Griner along with bad advice from the Interim Attorney.
This case was also sponsored by the 1st amendment foundation with a grant from the National Freedom of Information Coalition at the University of Missouri, who provided a grant for litigation costs in fighting the wrongful Trespassing of Retiree Ribaya. Mr. Ribaya paid the Coalition back from the amount awarded to him in the settlement.
I hope the Board pursues the suggestion of City Trustee Dennis Rogero, who suggested the Board review the possibility of recouping these WASTED Funds caused by the Interim Attorney.
These type of actions which cost our Fund money in litigation, could cost the Actives & The City higher contributions in the Future.
Just my Opinion and Observations.
