STRACKStrack's grin remains despite the escalation of Valve's anger (he would say the same for Gabbar's anger if Gabbar hadn't remained so difficult to read) but rotates his ears so that they face backwards and sit at half-mast. The mottled stallion prides himself on the exceptionally long length of his fuse, but that does not mean he is willing to allow the black mare to shove him from the cliff's edge without a fight, should it come down to it. The venom in her voice is impossible to miss, even if he had been trying to, and the Nez Perce stallion snorts in growing amusement (that he, admittedly, does not try to hide).
She steps closer to Strack now and he raises his head up instead of curling it against his chest, his ears pressed completely to their nest within his tousled black mane. The ocean is threatening behind him, seeming to increase in violence and sound as it collides relentlessly against the cliff, as if it was expecting to swallow the beast and drag him to its depths. He smiles with whatever fake politeness he can muster and tosses his forelock from his dun face, voice cheery as he responds to the mare who has abandoned all attempts at hiding her utter disdain for him, "Ah, so you'll stay, how exciting!"
He nods his head to her, and to Gabbar, who has kept rather quiet throughout the entire exchange, before stepping tenderly around the pair. As he edges away from the cliff, he breaks into a comfortable trot through the loosely packed sand and calls over his speckled shoulder as he leaves, "Expect an invitation to our first dinner party as a Dunes family!"
He half expects the pair — or, to be honest, only Valve — to follow him with more venomous words, but the Nez Perce is quite interested in other things, now that their first rendezvous has drawn to a close.
