WE GO OVER THE MOUNTAINS

Being there for her hadn't been easy, and still the young mare continues to be the only one to shelter her sweet mother from the shards of emotional pain that never cease cut deep into her heart. She would be there forever, if need be, but she knows Georgiana is strong enough to slay her demons on her own, however long that may take. That doesn't mean said demons haven't already left their mark on Sirena herself.

She was born with a sense of duty to her mother, but this was only strengthened by the events that took place as she grew into a young mare. She has done what she must for someone who would do the same in return, but always being there emotionally left no room for others, leaving only an icy outer shell save for the interactions she had with her dam. That does not mean that a yearning to be loved by others doesn't glint fiercely in the fiery pits of her soul.

Sometimes, such as now, she could feel the walls she built so high melting away, and it made her uncertain.

In fact she wanted to finally lean on someone else to vent out the emotions that she had withheld for so long for the sake of being a stable support for Georgiana, and the earnest nature of the stallion only made it harder for her to contain them. The way his tone rumbled with soothing words spoke in larger volumes than his actual words of how much he actually understood the situation and it made her wonder how much he had experienced in his lifetime.

Not commenting on what he said, she nodded quietly, though contrastingly her gaze was steady as it examined his calm demeanor, actually glad he is here keeping them safe from the vast dangers in this territory, and thankful despite not expressing it outwardly.

Your mother is lucky to have a daughter such as you.

“Yes,” she answered in a subdued tone, a smile hinting at the corners of her mouth as she glanced at Georgiana. “But I was only there when needed, while she fought with all her might to accept that her son died, she suffered the most." the words almost became a quiet musing as her voice tapered off at the end. ”I-I was only there.”

With what he said next her demeanor that still held an unnecessary tension to it faltered as she shifted her weight. Her expression was visibly softer as she moved closer just a bit, unable to contain the empathy she was feeling so suddenly because just knowing he understood, it was an unbelievable comfort. Dark eyes searched his expression closely.

”Well.. such things only make us stronger, this is clear.” She forced a smile, trying to mimic the inoffensive charm he so easily showed her. "And I imagine they are eternally grateful to you, as my mother is to me."

She did not want to drudge up something he probably buried long ago, so she let the silence linger in hope it was comfort enough.
