Rufina ran along the sandy beach, legs stretched out as far as they would go as she thundered across the ground. Another form, this one smaller and of red and white, struggled to keep up; the determination he showed only pushed his mother faster to see just how long and how well he could keep up. The colt had lots of energy, nearly being a month old by now, and Rufina was always coming up with new things for him to do to keep occupied. Looking over her shoulder she slows her pace. "Tired yet my Basilio," she softly questions the boy who stops too late and runs into her flank, making her laugh and turn to poke at him with her nose.

The colts huffs, sitting on his rear now and looking up at his dam with those baby blue eyes of his; so big and innocent to the terrors of the world. "Run foreva mama," he happily chimes and then springs back up, his short tail flopping against his two-toned rump. Leaning over Ru lips at his tiny forelock and then sighs when letting go, "we can later but lets go find your papa, okay?". The colt gives an enthusiastic nod, trotting along at her side when she begins to move again, heading inland and away from the beach.

Rufina had given birth on the first few days of spring, but something had held her back from introducing her boy to his father. She was going to change that today though, he needed to meet Basilio. "Will he like me mama?," Basil asks, moving up to walk along her shoulder, tipping his head up to look at his mother who only chuckles and brushes her lips against his red and white face while whispering a single word that makes him smile, "yes."
