Xina had swore to never have a child again; that she would spend the rest of her years serving others in the herd instead of the whims of a mother. But as the seasons changed and after that one night spent alone with Olaf, the roan mare found her flanks beginning to swell until she felt weighted down and barely able to move. It was her third child and the other two had not made her feel this way before; like she was being stretched to the max. Her first foal; a painted colt from a draft upon the mainlands had been a large foal. He had been hard to birth because he was her first child and because of his size. But even he had not made her stomach as big as it was now which worried the lead mare. It forced her to stop patrolling so much; eat more than she had thought imaginable and sleep while she wasn't eating. Her legs hurt from the added weight and her sides constantly crapped, making her bite at the frosted red flesh.

Finally the day came and Xina found herself abandoning the herd to tend to the nature of the birth. It was difficult and lasted much longer than she would have liked. Exhausted, Xina had thought it would be the end of her as she had watched sun rise and fall. But as the moon hung heavy in the sky; full and glorious, the little blue foal entered the world. At first Xina was slow to tend to the child, but she had done the necessaries to make sure it lived. With a grunt and a small struggle, the roan mother had stood on shaky legs feeling almost like a foal herself. Looking around she spotted no danger so she gently urged her new born daughter to her own legs. Thankfully the foal wasn't large like Xina had been expecting; more of average size. Perhaps she had just been laying wrong and that was what made the birth and her belly so large and difficult.

Days followed, weeks, months until the season was almost to a close. Xina had still not returned to the herd or her stallion; finding it her right to be able to spend time with her child instead. So innocent, so trusting; the blue girl was a daring creature and often times would go exploring without her mother's consent. But Xina had been practiced with Mera and so would follow her daughter without so much complaint as she had done with her tan daughter.

But today would be different.

Xina had spent much of the morning grooming the blue girl to perfection. The fuzzy mane upon her delicate neck was free of any twigs, leaves and grass along with her fuzzy lashing tail. Blue speckled eyes were wide and alert, curious to what her mother might have in store for her today. She said they were going on an adventure to see a new sight that she had never seen before which kept her close to Xina's side. So as Xina began to walk away from their little secluded area that was once the Thicket, her daughter was tight against her flank ready for whatever might be in store for her.

Catching Olaf's scent as the duo drew closer to the Forest, Xina didn't bother to call out to her stallion. Instead a brief smile crossed her ebony lips as she knew he would be proud of the daughter she had provided. The blue child was strong, smart and beautiful. She had the white face of her size, the thicker legs and the longer hairs along her fetlocks. But she carried the more finer features of her mother's face, neck and body. Once grown she would certainly be a sight to see.

"Olaf" Xina said softly as she stopped a few strides off to his right, hoping to catch his attention. The foal moved to stand under her mother's chin with her hip pressed against her chest. Head up, ears forward the blue girl was curious of the large male; not afraid. "I would like you to meet your daughter, Xiomara"
