there's a stone around my leg

livamyyo

The taste of salt on her tongue caused the red filly to screw up her nose in displeasure and stamp her hoof in the damp sand. She reflected that the shore didn’t look like the danger her mother appeared to be warning her of, but it certainly tasted like it. With a disgruntled snort, she turned away from the foul tasting water just as an unfamiliar call split through the relative silence of the paradise. Livamyyo’s ears flicked back and forward cautiously until her green-blue eyes settled on an unfamiliar form.

Her mother had told her about monsters – some blatant, others in disguise.

She stood her ground, her hooves firmly planted in the not-so-firm terrain of the beach, and head held high and proud. Her short tail flagged behind her in the warm breeze. She did not move when he greeted her but merely watched him stonily. He did not sound like any horse she had ever heard, but of course, she had only ever heard her mother’s voice and her own. His voice was deeper than hers, whatever that meant.

She tossed her head and snorted. ”I’ve been warned about you.” she informed him matter=of-factly while peering down her muzzle at him, ”And I won’t be fooled by your attempts to charm or trick me, Backahast”. She was quite sure she could see right through his treacherous ploy.
