Some birds from Midland CBC

Here's some photos of things that I could identify while doing our Mid-Pen CBC. We counted 2 of the red-headed woodpeckers.

We also came across an apple tree that had 3 or 4 different types of apples growing on it. It was being swarmed by a couple hundred starlings, a couple dozen waxwings, hordes of mourning doves, and numerous other species (chickadees, finches, etc.) We just pulled up to it to start our count when this fellow showed up and reduced our count to 1 Coopers Hawk.
