Relief seeped through Amica as she simply stood and absorbed the company at her side. His presence, his touch, his words and warmth. What might have happened if she had ended up stepping up upon some others shores did not bare thinking about. Those that she might have encountered, or even simply the fight against the cold she would have to have engaged with alone. A shiver crept along her numbed sides at the thought. Slow breaths inhaled of the stallions scent at her side, the comfort his mere touch managed to fill her with. The doubt in her decision for a moment a clouded thought at the back of her mind.

However Pagan did not miss the unintended falseness that had occupied her words. Head dipped embarrassedly she snorted, nosing the blades at her feet in an effort to hide her features. "Usually," she correctly herself quietly, eyes drifted away to a point opposite them in the distance. Always, up until recently. Until a little rendezvous with the very lord at her side had undone so many of her inner walls. Though her doubts had remained at whether she was right in choosing to accept the stallions offer his acceptance had peeled away the defences she had set in place. Where others had shunned her he had sought her out again. Where they had put her down his words told her he saw so much more. More than even she thought existed. Even now when he still had the chance to turn her away his words drew her deeper. Painting a world he called home for her, a place she felt about her waiting to welcome her in.

Another tremor slid down her tawny sides, yet this one carried a delicious warmth as his breath seeped through her dark mane and against her bowed neck. His words sent a deeper warmth spreading through her, a small smile curling slowly across her lips betraying the hope that was blossoming within. He was a fool, but she was so glad he was.

Clouded eyes frozen in their absent scanning of the haze ahead as the masculine tones carried over her, the words stilling her movements so fully the tension that lined her physique was undeniable. "I..." Words failed the mare. She had no desire to lie to the steed who had offered her so much already, but she had wanted to be certain before uttering the answer whispering through her mind. And yet... would she have taken such a risk if part of her had not been sure? The risk of reaching his shores outbalanced the risk of her raising a child alone. At least so her fears had risen to finally believe.

His query brought back the weight of responsibility for the life forming within her, and shame flit across her gentle features. When finally the words spilled from her raven lips they were little more than a whisper as she admitted the truth that had eventually pushed her into the waves, "I thought our child should have at least one set of eyes that can watch over them properly." It was the first time she had spoken of it aloud to any, even the mares she had left behind. There was no hiding from it now. "I am not certain yet.. but I believe... I do not want them to come to harm because of me," the words flooded in confession, terrified of the danger posed to the little one just by having her as its mother.
