The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

'The only one that I’ve done that matters is you.' Halina once more rolled her eyes, but she would not press for further information. If Ygritte did not what to share information about her past lovers, that was her prerogative and honestly, Halina didn't much care. Ygritte shifted slightly before she began to talk, apologizing for Halina's past but she merely shrugged in response, and soon after Ygritte began to talk about her own past, one in which there were no ranks - instead, all were equal, a thought that was odd for Halina to comprehend. And then she spoke about the possibility of being kicked out of Abendrot, and Halina couldn't help herself - she started to laugh. It wasn't that it was an idiotic comment - no, it was rather logical. But the thought that Kershov would throw out a femme such as Ygritte was comical. Rather, the femme was just the type of wolf that Kershov would instead allow to rise in the ranks.

"You are mine, Ygritte, and I am yours. You will not leave this pack by anyone's decree, not if I have a say in it." Halina nuzzled her before moving, crawling atop of her and slithering between her limbs until she was within Ygritte's embrace. For once, she was comfortable being the one embraced. For some reason, being loved by her, this warrior woman, was different. They were on par with one another, without either having the upper hand. Without either being able to be fully in charge. It was, to be honest, refreshing. Halina threw back her head until her caput rubbed on Ygritte's chest, and a purr grew in Halina's own. "If you are really so concerned about whether you will be allowed to stay, we can cut to the chase and ask Kershov directly. Immediately, Halina let loose a howl, calling for the King, before starting to laugh. This would no doubt be an amusing scene for the Ice King - Halina, his hard warrior ess, in the arms of another femme, acting like a love-stricken teenager.

Always Kershov was prompt - many outside of the pack considered his cruel and vicious, but Halina had always found his regimented and logical. He had his odd quirks, but everyone did, and it only made him more lovable. Others would no doubt collapse from a heart attack, hearing that Kershov was loved, but it was true - Halina loved him. He had this pack, the first place where Halina was truly accepted, truly respected for her skills. It wasn't romantic, obviously... But he was her friend, perhaps her truest friend of all. He understood her, and the pair complemented each other well.

But as the minutes passed without the Titan's appearance, Halina's giggling ceased, her facade becoming quickly serious. The warrioress rose, leaving Ygritte's embrace. "Come." Without a glance backward, she exited her den, nares to the ground. As she began to search the pack, she tried to think about the last time it was that she had seen the King... Was it so far back that it had been they had been attacked by the Cougars? No... Certainly it had been after that... But she could not remember. The thick mud obscured her nares, making it difficult to pick up on any scents at all, but then she did, finally, pick it up. She picked up the faintest of scents, and Halina began to follow it as it weaved throughout the pack. She found a fallen tree that had been felled to block access to a cavern, but didn't think to investigate that. Instead, she followed it... Until it led to the the boundary. Halina searched the boundary, Ygritte briefly forgotten, and found the boundary ill-defined. Kershov had been less active, or perhaps inactive completely.

Where had the Ice King gone?

Halina tilted her head back and called to the pack, both worried and confused, wondering if there was some news that she had missed. Turning to Ygritte, she nuzzled against the fae briefly before lowering her haunches to the ground to wait.
