they most deffinatley are. found a tree up 500 feet on this rocky craggy, cavey, cliffy hill, to find a plateau ontop about 60 foot oval 40 feet surounded by cliffs, i climb up and find a pine tree ripped up with a 5 foot circle of cougar scat around it, grabbed one and screwed, only to watch it screw uphill 2 minutes later as im going down. made it 100 yards uphill in 6 or 7 leaps. this was off of rt 7 on the north smithfield burrillvile line. only a few miles from your incident.
