To the moon and back, remember? [Orhan]

"Look at the stars and how they shine for you"
Filly - mutt - buckskin varnish roan - 16.0hh
beautiful moon-child of Orhan & Carisa

When the time had came for Carisa to give birth she did so alone and under the cover of night; instinct driving her more now that she was more experienced and a bit more confident in her skin. She waited a few days after the birthing to bring her newest addition home, but even then she kept her daughter close to bond, who didn't seem to mind as she spent her time snuggling close to her dam or napping in the soft sands; oblivious of the way her mother would snort and pin her ears when Orhan or even Koray would appear in her sights, making it clear that they shouldn't intrude on such a precious time. Today though, was to be different.

Eyes of brown and blue, the left being brown and the right as blue as the sky, blinked sleepily up at the underside of it's dam's underbelly, which provided such lovely shade and Feray would have happily dozed right back off had Carisa not chosen then to finally move, moving away to snatch at the sparse grass that grew around the banks of the oasis. Feray snorted in annoyance, big ears pinning themselves down to show her mother just how annoyed she was but Carisa only chuckles when she spares her filly a glance, going back to her nibbling after giving Feray the gesture to go on.

The little filly did just that, pushing up with her legs to get off the ground and then shaking off the sand that clung to her like a second coat before taking a few little steps away from Carisa, stopping a few times to look over a shoulder and expecting to see the large body that was her mother looming just behind her but to her surprise Carisa stayed where she was, watching her daughter from the corner of her eye. Suddenly Feray felt overly excited, and was instantly springing forward to dash along the sand with a squeal that drowned out her mother's call to slow it down; like she would ever do that! But sometimes listening to your mother turned out to be smartest thing you could possibly do, as not even a few seconds into running she ran into something bigger than her; well everything was bigger than her, but whatever she had run into also felt warm like her mother, yet carried a muskier scent to them. Feray falls back onto her rear, her breath leaving her in a rush from the collision. The shock wears off and is soon replaced by a pouty lip, on the verge of a wail and watery eyes.

Feray;
