16,000 years ago, the world was a very different place. Nature was the most dominant force, and animals ruled the landscape. In the midwest of the continent we now know as North America, a valley existed that played home to a plethora of the fauna that roamed the earth in the Rancholabrean age. Immense mastodons and mammoths migrated through the valley, while herds of horses and stag-moose took up a more permanent residence. The abudance of prey attracted many predators, from smilodons to shortfaced bears. But one genus rose up above the rest to take control of the valley, existing as the apex predators: Canis. They came in all shapes and sizes, but their motivation was ultimately the same - to survive.
