Purpose for the gypsies?

So! The gypsies exist? (somewhere, still, maybe?) I was hoping to give them a purpose!

One thought was that each year they could ask the packs for any of their curious pups and travel around the other packs with them for a year and a half to sort of get a taste of what the other packs were like.

Another idea was that the gypsies would be ideal for aspiring diplomats to hang out with, getting to know the perspectives of travelers and loners.

The current gypsies (and mercenaries? Where are they at these days?) could be teachers, guards, and companions to them through these travels!

Thoughts? Interest?

Side Note: Where do the gypsies want to go now? Does anyone want a visit from them?
