GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
Live through this lie

Was I left behind?
Someone tell me, tell me I survived.

I emerge from the depths of the great black sea, my red hide slick and sleek as the coat of liquid seeps in. I had lingered on the Crossing long enough. But it was time to return home.

When I arrived on the shores of Luthien, I didn't really have a plan. I didn't know if mum was still here or whether there would be any familiar faces among Valentine's current herd. But what I didn't expect was to see the place basically deserted.

I had wanted to see the world. I wanted to scale it, gallop across it, take in every everything this universe had to offer. I wanted to taste the reeds of the plains that grew to the west, and swim in the rivers that snaked their way through the north.

So I did.

It didn't make me feel any better.

It was a tough decision, to come back. There was so much more waiting for me if I kept pushing forward. New faces, new herds. Perhaps a new place for me to strike out on my own. But the islands were home in many ways. But the Prairie was my home.

I didn't look like the boy I was when I left. My stature was heavy and thick. Muscles rippled from underneath the firey hide I inherited from a father I'd never know. My brown eyes scan the empty sparce before I stalk through it, my heavy cranium low between my withers, my stride long and easy. I lower my head to graze, and contemplate my new responsibility to cultivate this land.
