2016 MSA update Posted on 4/14/2016 at 05:13:42 PM by Dan
I am presenting this information so people can see MSA is working to make this a fun and enjoyable season. So this is not an official press release but an update of what we know, as provided by teams. While we hope we get everyone to participate, we all know team's schedules can change due to work conflicts, family obligations, cars not being race-ready, other racing commitments, etc.
Promoters do not always like to put out releases until the event is closer. While advertising who intends to run an event, if they do not compete, no one wants the fans to be disappointed and feel mislead.
This year's roster list includes (from phone conversations and registration forms returned):
#0 Larry Gibson’s & Zach Gibson – (Confirmed all races with the exception of Midvale.
#OZ Ehrhart (Confirmed)
#5 Gillingham (Confirmed)
#07 Jaycox (Confirmed)
#7 May (Confirmed)
#11 Edwards (Confirmed- At least for first race. - team will be running a lot of ISMA races this year)
#12 Jake Smith (Confirmed, bought Mike McVetta’s Car)
#21 Palmer (Confirmed)
#22 McVetta (Confirmed Lorain, Midvale & Toledo Races)
#36 Henes (Confirmed)
#40 Talon Stephens (Confirmed – Most MSA Races)
#44 Miller (Confirmed when does not conflict with work)
#54 Jimmy Blagg – (Confirmed, bought Edwards car.)
#55 Rich Reid (Confirmed when does not conflict with work)
#77 May (Confirmed)
#81 Fisher/Tetzlaff (Confirmed)
#92 Lehnert (Confirmed)
#95 (or #94) Bodnar (Confirmed for 5/14 Sandusky Race.)
As you can see, we have a lot of interest and expecting larger fields this year. Some teams will only be able to compete one or two MSA events, but we welcome them to each race!
A couple notes: AJ and Charlie will return to the May team as drivers.
Randy Wynne's annual supermodified driver reunion will occur again at Sandusky Speedway on the August 20th MSA event. The vintage race cars will return that day too.
There are a couple teams not mentioned who we hope will compete again this year. We just have not heard back from them so I did not include them. (once again unofficial release here)
Also, everyone please keep Tim Ice in your prayers. For those who do not know, Tim suffered a severe medical setback during the off season. He has been going through rehab learning to do the small things like even walking again. In true Iceman form, he is fighting to get ready and get behind the wheel of his car and test it. Whether or not we will see Tim behind a super this year, please say hello to Tim if you see him at a track this year. Tim Ice = "class"!
Speaking of "Super", Super Dave get well! We are getting close to opening day and expect to see you at Sandusky.
