they'll never see another day

He was mid-lick when a single pebble was disturbed from above him, and as it clattered quietly down the embankment of stone and snow his venomous eyes turned upwards as he finished the sweep over his limb. From beneath hooded eyes he sees her, perched atop the rock as her eyes roved over him hungrily. Her yip draws his ears forward and his chin lifted slightly to get a better look at her before she leapt down from her pedestal to stand on even ground with him. Immediately his chin lowered once more and his eyes narrowed as she brazenly moved towards him. His hackles bristled and his ears fell back and to the sides in a threatening display. With a full stomach his hunger for her flesh was abated, but that did not make him any more of an amicable creature.
And yet she does not heed his warning, boldly encroaching upon his space and suddenly his lips peel back and a rumbling snarl lifts in his throat. His chest heaved off the ground and his forelimbs went rigid, holding him in this half raised position, though his hindquarters remained folded upon the ground as if he would simply return to grooming in a moment. His anterior and posterior seemed to speak completely different languages in this moment. Teeth snapped in the air, aimed in her general direction but seeking no flesh, followed closely by his tongue curling over those deadly exposed fangs. The bridge of his black marked face was wrinkled and the snarl continued to build.
When the tawny strange of her fur mingled with the pure white of his, he snapped his lethal daggers at her once more, this time intending to place a firm and piercing nip upon the point of her hip. And still, he remained half laying, seemingly unwilling to put in the true effort to drive off or take down this perceived annoyance. Though her wintry perfume began to permeate the air it was her reaction to his bite that would dictate how their interaction would proceed.
